• I have a Streaming Manager / Streaming Manager for Enterprise account and login. Can I use the same credentials to login to the eCDN web portal?

    No. Today they are separate applications and eCDN requires its own unique login. You should have received your login in the welcome email when your eCDN account was created. You may request additional logins by opening a support ticket.


  • Do I need a separate eCDN license for having a redundant eCDN deployment?

    Yes you will need a separate eCDN license to deploy a second eCDN cache instance.

    We recommend that every location have at least two eCDN instances for redundancy.


  • How big is the eCDN virtual appliance image?

    700MB.


  • How can I add additional logins to my eCDN account?

    • You have to open a support ticket.

  • What is the latency between the player and an eCDN edge?

    • The player has a 1000ms timeout setting. It periodically checks, every 5 minutes, all the eCDN instances to determine the closest one. Instances that exceeds this threshold are removed from the provider list.

  • I have two internal networks. One is guest network, second is the intranet network. Can the same eCDN edge server be used to support players from either of the two networks?

    Yes one eCDN edge server can be used to support traffic from multiple internal networks. Just make sure, the player clients have connectivity over these internal networks to the eCDN edge.


  • What is the recommended configuration for the eCDN edge cache virtual appliance?

    Configuration for the eCDN edge virtual appliance depends on the number of viewer players clients that are expected to connect.
