Ustream's channel URL formatting has changed.  All new channel URL's will end with a unique, 11-character alphanumeric code.  For example, www.ustream.tv/channel/AbcDEF1aB2C

Previously, creating a channel resulted in a new URL that mimicked the channel's 'name.' If you created a channel with the name "Daily Videos," your channel's URL became www.ustream.tv/channel/daily-videos

This created a problem for users who want to create a channel URL containing certain common words:  "test", "event", "stream", "live" etc.  Now, an unlimited number of channels can exist with the same 'name.'

Please note
  • Previously created channels will not be affected, and can still be accessed via the same URLs.
  • Connecting to a new Ustream channel via a 3rd-party IRC client will require specific knowledge of the channel's exact alphanumeric hash.
